GLEPHA’s Mental Health Special Interest Group (SIG) aims to:
1) Improve the outcomes of law enforcement interactions with people who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or distress in the community; and
2) Align health care and social resources to reduce the role of law enforcement in responding to mental health situations.
Our purpose is to identify and share innovative solutions and build an evidence base for effective approaches that improve outcomes by bringing together a diverse group of people with lived experience, carers/families, law enforcement officers, mental health providers, educators, researchers, and policy experts.
