Race, ethnicity, disability status, mental health, chronic disease and illness, gender, sex and sexuality issues, religious identity, refugee status and age all coalesce to create unique and often unfavourable outcomes for those who are vulnerable and often have multiple vulnerable identities within formalized institutions.

This Special Interest Group invites members and people interested in the issues to share their research, advance scholarship, and methods, and support early-career and underrepresented scholars interested in studying the effects multiple identities have in law enforcement and public health outcomes.

By denying people an inclusive space contributes to dehumanization and, this is where the importance of this SIG addresses by educating, advocating, and representing diversity and inclusivity.
