Dr Ali Malik is a Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Criminal Justice at the University of Leeds. His research focuses on policing, networked governance, and climate adaptation, with particular attention to the role of policing within multiagency responses to extreme weather and broader emergency management frameworks. His work examines how issues of governance, climate vulnerability, equity, and knowledge shape local preparedness and response. His work is internationally engaged, including collaborations with colleagues at the Australian National University and participation in global discussions on policing and the climate crisis.
He is Climate Crisis Area of Research Interest Lead for The Yorkshire Policing-Academic Centre of Excellence and works closely with partners in academia, policing, and public policy.
