The 2026 Advancing the Field of Alternative Response Convening: Establishing Permanence will be held June 4 – 5, 2026 in Chicago, Illinois. Hosted by Policing Project at NYU School of Law, Georgetown Law Center for Innovations in Community Safety, and the Alternative Mobile Services Association, this convening will focus on ensuring that alternative response becomes a recognized profession and a durable part of public safety systems. These programs are no longer “alternative”, they are becoming integral components of the public safety and wellness infrastructure. Join colleagues, policymakers, and practitioners in the field, as well as sponsors developing cutting-edge systems and tools to facilitate this vital work. For a recap of last year’s convening, see this video.
The convening will be in person and not live-streamed (though some panels will be recorded and posted after). However, one of the co-hosts (AMSA) puts on a fully virtual convening on alternative response in March – see here for more information.
